This is a great change! Keeps certain classes from becoming insane, but boosts a lot of classes at the same time.
Makes sense, with otherwise Infinity bringing down Resistances to 10%. Now the enemies will have 78% resistance with Infinity. Still quite a good upgrade for a lot of Fire or Cold Immune enemies, doesn't change a whole lot for Lightning.
interesting. at first i thought we might see builds without infy, but since it's still -85 against non immune mobs, it will still be used for that damage increase
Definitely the right change there. It was already boring planning so many builds around conviction and lower res so now we can finally go all out with new gear setups using facets and other rune words that -resists.
Okay, thats a rather huge change 3 days before S2 starts, without a PTR to test it.I mean good things first. Its nice to know that while Infinity will still be mandatory for most elemental endgame builds but wont be a yuge advantage going into terror zones with lots of sundered mobs. Still, leaves a bad taste that any light or fire build will NEED to have infinity to rival cold mastery in terms of overall efficiency.Another downside is, that Blizzard (or Frostnova depending on gearstate) was already considered to be the best ladder race and farm build before you have access to infinity. now its by far the strongest build, even at BiS gear state. Its the only build which will be able to get sundered mobs to -100 resis without any effort. They really shouldve considered a rework to the sorceresses cold tree (and cold damage items obviously as well).
